Industrial Maintenance Technician

Schedule:  2x2x3 (12 hours)

Sign on Bonus: $1,500

Position Summary:

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Qualified Technicians must be able to demonstrate a strong aptitude for troubleshooting equipment while also following strict OEM preventive maintenance techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety, health, and environmental procedures and protocols.
  • Perform preventive maintenance task as prescribed by the OEM’s.
  • Assist in the development of and/or improve the existing PM system through thoughtful analysis of data.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls systems.
  • Install new equipment and assets.
  • Ensure that all assets are maintained to OEM design criteria and functionality.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, lasers, and other alignment equipment.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities through the planning department.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Abilities:

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Safety systems such as Lock-Tag-Verify/Lock-out-tag-out, elevated work and fall, confined space, forklift safety, hot work, etc.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Safety systems such as Lock-Tag-Verify/Lock-out-tag-out, elevated work and fall, confined space, forklift safety, hot work, etc.
  • 10 Years of experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Critical thinker with demonstrated corrective action and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong AB/Rockwell PLC experience with demonstrated and updated training.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and program VFD’s.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Takes responsibility for self-performance (Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently).
  • Vibration/Motion Amplifications certifications preferred but not required.
  • Infrared certifications preferred but not required.
  • Experience in an aluminum extrusion facility with fabrication, anodizing, and painting is preferred but not a requirement

Physical Demands: The employee in this role will be primarily standing while performing assigned duties. There will also be frequent walking involved, as well as the use of hands to handle and feel. The employee will be required to have coordination and manual dexterity to safely operate overhead cranes, among other equipment. The employee will be required to reach with their hands and arms, occasionally balance or climb, and stoop as necessary. Additionally, the employee will need to have the ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. This job requires specific vision abilities, including close vision for performing detailed tasks, distance vision to see objects clearly at a further distance, and peripheral vision to be aware of surroundings. These vision abilities, among others, are essential to successfully carry out the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
