Transportation & Severe Weather

Update Page

Your safety at Western is our first priority, so we want to be sure you have the most current information regarding severe weather and traffic that may impact your commute or your ability to conduct business safely at our facility.  Please contact our onsite security at 972-389-7620 with questions or concerns or 911 in an emergency.

Traffic Updates

WESTERN VISITOR NOTICES:

Overnight:

  • The southbound I-35E Sandy Lake Road entrance ramp will be closed overnight from 8 p.m. Friday, January 19 to 9 a.m. Saturday, January 20.
  • The southbound I-35E Belt Line Road exit ramp will be closed overnight from 8 p.m. Friday, January 19 to 9 a.m. Saturday, January 20.
  • The southbound I-35E frontage road between Sandy Lake Road and Belt Line Road will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. Friday, January 19 to 9 a.m. Saturday, January 20.
  • The southbound I-35E frontage road between Sandy Lake Road and Belt Line Road will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. Friday, January 19 to 9 a.m. Saturday, January 20.
  • Southbound I-35E between President George Bush Turnpike and I-635 will be reduced to one lane overnight from 8 p.m. Friday, January 19 to 9 a.m. Saturday, January 20.

Daily/Nightly:

  • As a reminder, please DO NOT park in the Harley Davidson Parking lot.  Violators will be towed with no advanced warning and at the owner’s expense.
  • For the safety of our employees, Deliveries and shipments must use the Booth Drive entrance at all times unless otherwise specified.
  • Southbound I-35E between President George Bush Turnpike and I-635 will be reduced to one lane from 8 p.m. Monday, January 15 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, January 16 and continue nightly until Friday, January 19.

Please see below for information you may need to know to stay safe at Western during or leading up to severe weather.  We will include updates regarding plant closures, weather safety preparations and other important details here, and employees should also expect email or text notifications through Western’s normal employee communication channels.

Dallas Area Weather Update as of January 14th

While it is bitterly cold, we are not currently expecting precipitation so Western will operate as per normal on Monday, January 15th.  We have taken many precautions to ensure our employees are kept safe following the drop in temperatures and have also ensured the grounds are treated should Mother Nature surprise us with unexpected precipitation.
